The Very First Step for a Good MakeUp

We all are aware what cleansing means. As for the people who don’t, it means to clean all the dirt, perspiring, bacteria, grease, dust, makeup and pollution that collects on your skin, which should be removed completely. Just like a painter prepares his canvas for a painting, a woman should prepare her face for the makeup. To prepare your face for the perfect makeup, you have to take the very first step which is cleansing. Let’s discuss some face cleansing steps.

Most of the people just use their regular soap and water to wash their face, but technically it is wrong (Also, some people cannot manage their time. So, check this post 5 Ways To Find Time For Skin Care). Our regular soap and water are not very effective, hence, cleansing is required. This is not because those soaps are not capable of getting rid of dirt, perspiring, bacteria, grease, dust, makeup and pollution perfectly, but the reason behind it is that the makeup that is coming in the market are waterproof and are made to stay as long as they can. The stale make-up and the day’s dirt  and  grime  not only clog the pores of the skin causing blackheads but also eventually coarsen the skin.

Most of us leave our makeup on our face and goes to sleep, this is way too wrong. So, always cleanse you face before going to bed, no matter how late you are in. Because it takes so much time to heal your skin and seconds to destroy it. Check this post My Night Time Cleansing Routine for Nights when Minutes Matter!. Also, you can use simple oils to clean your face 2+ years using oil to clean skin and apply Rosewater on your face after cleansing. You must be asking why Roses aren’t just pretty… and 7 BENEFITS OF ROSEWATER FOR SKIN

If you want to do cleansing try it with a cleanser of some kind: cleansing creams, lotion, milk or maybe just an ordinary cold cream (You can even use The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash too.). The cream must be massaged into the skin with a light upward and outward movement, paying particular attention to the neck, ear, crease of the nose and under chin area. After massaging it, clean the greasy creams out of you face using cotton balls or some tissue.  If you feel that the cream is not cleaned properly, try washing your face with your regular soap.  Here are a few cleansing creams which are very easy and quick  to  make.

1: Easy to Make Cleansing Cream:

  • 1/2 tablespoon beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon emulsifying wax
  • 4 tablespoons baby oil
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ¼ teaspoon borax
  • 1 tablespoon witch hazel
  • Few drops of perfume
  • 1 tablespoon of borax

Mix the waxes and oils in an enamel bowl. Then melt slowly in a pan of boiling water. Take another bowl and heat the water and borax until the borax is completely dissolved. Then add witch hazel, but do not leave it on the heat too long otherwise it may evaporate. Once the waxes have melted, remove the bowls from the heat and mix them in water, stirring continuously. When the cream begins to cool, add the perfume. Beat until the mixture thickens and cools. Use of baby oil (which is a mineral oil) does not penetrate the skin and spreads easily and liquefies readily.

2: Rose Water  Cleansing Cream:

  • 1 tablespoon emulsifying wax
  • 4 tablespoons mineral oil
  • 6 tablespoons  rose water (Check this article DIY Rosewater.)
  • ½ teaspoon borax
  • Few drops of rose oil (perfume)

Melt the waxes and oil together, and at the same time heat  the  water  and borax and make sure that the borax is completely dissolved. Remove both bowls from the heat and pour water into the oil. Continue stirring until a White cream starts to form. Add a few drops of rose oil. When the mixture begins to cool. Carry on beating until the mixture thickens.

3: Cucumber Cleansing Cream

  • 3 teaspoons beeswax
  • 4 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 5 teaspoons mineral oil or olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons cucumber juice
  • l teaspoon glycerin
  • A pinch of borax

Melt the oils and wax in the usual way over a pan of  boiling water. Simultaneously, heat the cucumber juice, glycerin, colouring and borax in a separate bowl. Make sure that the borax dissolves thoroughly. When the contents of both the bowls are melted and are perfectly warm, add water drop by drop to the oil stirring continuously. Now, remove it from the heat and beat until the mixture thickens and cools. Keep the cream in the refrigerator as cucumber juice gets bad quickly. So, make the cream in a small quantity.
